Under-Counter Basin Installation Process
1. Countertop Cut-Out
- Ensure the countertop cut-out matches the basin size.
- The cut-out should be slightly smaller than the basin rim so it doesn’t show from above.
- Smooth and seal the edges of the cut-out (especially for stone/granite).
2. Mark & Prepare Mounting
- Turn the countertop upside down or access from underneath.
- Mark the centre of the cut-out and place the basin aligned properly.
- Clean the edge of the cut-out and basin rim with a dry cloth.
3. Apply Sealant or Adhesive
- Apply a continuous bead of silicone sealant or epoxy adhesive around the basin rim.
- Carefully place the basin against the underside of the countertop.
4. Fix the Basin
- Clamp the basin to the countertop using temporary supports (wood blocks, basin clamps, or metal brackets).
- Allow the adhesive/sealant to cure for 6–12 hours (follow product instructions).
5. Install Waste Outlet
- Fix the waste coupling into the basin’s drain hole using PTFE tape.
- Attach the bottle trap or P-trap and connect it to the wall drain.
6. Connect Water Supply
- Install angle valves at water inlets.
- Connect flexible hoses from valves to the faucet above the counter.
7. Finishing & Testing
- Once cured, remove clamps and clean excess sealant.
- Turn on the water supply.
- Check all joints for leakage.
- Clean the countertop and basin for a smooth finish.
