1.Surface Preparation

  • Ensure the floor area is clean, level, and dry.
  • Mark the position of the drain outlet and the centreline of the pan.
  • Create a base with a concrete or brick support bed.

2. Trap Installation

  • Fit an S-trap to the floor drain.
  • Apply PVC solvent cement on joints.
  • Ensure proper slope for drainage.

3. Pan Placement

  • Place the ceramic pan over the trap.
  • Check alignment and level.
  • Use a rubber gasket or sealing compound between the pan and trap.

4. Fixing the Pan

  • Fill the space around the base with cement mortar (1:4 mix).
  • Smooth the surface and slightly slope the floor toward the pan for proper drainage.

5. Water Connection

  • Provide a tap with a hose or flush valve beside the pan.
  • For a flushing cistern, connect the pipe to the pan inlet.

6. Final Finishing

  • After drying, apply white cement or silicone around the edges for neat sealing.
  • Tile around the pan if needed.
